General Characteristics
Carriage: Upright & jaunty
Type: Back very short, broad at shoulders, slightly
sloping, saddle short and broad with abundant hackle running smoothly into tail
coverts. Breast carried high, full and wellforward. Wings relatively large and
long, but not too pointed, carried low & close. Tail upright, full &
well spread, with well-developed and curved sickles.
Head: Small, face smooth. Comb singlr, small with 5
serrations tending towards flyaway type. Beak short & strong, slightly
curved. Eyes large & lively. Wattles fine, short & round. Ear-lobes
small & fine, oval to almond shape.
Neck: Short, curved & finely tapered with
plentiful hackle.
Legs & Feet: Legs well spaced & straight,
thighs short, shanks short & free of feather. Toes 4, well spread.
Plumage: Luxuriant & lying close to body with
plentiful sickles, side hangers & coverts.

Serious Defects:
Long narrow build. Carriage too sloping. Large Glossy white or reddish
ear-lobes. White in face. Wrong coloured legs or eyes. Whipped tail.
Under-developed ornamental feathers in male. Any splashing or spotting in
plumage.
